Sin: How to stop it before it happens

In This modern, contemporary, and macrocosm world is filled with things that are intended to take you as faraway from God as possible. Things like computers, iPads, social media, and cell phones can either be your best friend or a tool the devil will use to take you away from God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.

Even the products we by, the people we hang out with, the words we use, a lot of these things are sins and will take us away from God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Don’t believe me watch the video below!

The first thing anyone should do and the most important thing is to accept God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Through Christ alone you can be saved and redeemed for your sins.

The first scripture I want to point out to you is
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:9

Unrighteousness definition
“adjective. not righteous; not upright or virtuous; wicked; sinful; evil: an unrighteous king. not in accordance with right or justice; unfair or unjust: an unrighteous law.”

          So, what this is saying is if you are vigorously (in a way that involves physical strength, effort, or energy; strenuously) honest, and open up, pray, and cry out to God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit in Prayer. God the father and Jesus Christ the son will forgive us cleanse/clean us through the blood and death of Jesus Christ and we will be forgiven!

some things you can do to stop sinning and having people trying to take you away from God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.

  1. Rebuke them in the name of God the father, Jesus, Christ the son, and the Holy Spirit.
    If you have bad thoughts or someone is saying bad things about you and they won’t let up or sins are getting in the way tell them I rebuke you in the name of God the father, Jesus Christ the son, and The Holy Spirit. Titus 1:13 King James Version (KJV)
    13 This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;
  2. Pray and Fasting
    1 Corinthians 7:5 Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency. Joel 2:12 Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: Praying and Fasting is a great way to grow closer to God you should only fast one meal a week. Praying and fasting is very pleasing onto God he answers prayers on his time according to his will, and what you need and can handle at that time. Sometimes you have to pray for the same thing more than once and he will answer on his time and according to his will.

KJV Dictionary Definition:


“rebukable REBU’KABLE, a. from rebuke. Worthy of reprehension. 1. To chide; to reprove; to reprehend for a fault; to check by reproof. The proud he tam’d, the penitent he cheer’d, not to rebuke the rich offender fear’d. Thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbor. Lev. 19.
2. To check or restrain. The Lord rebuke thee, O Satan. Zech. 3. Is. 17.
3. To chasten; to punish; to afflict for correction. O Lord, rebuke me not in thine anger. Ps. 6.
4. To check; to silence. Master, rebuke thy disciples. Luke 19.
5. To check; to heal. And he stood over her and rebuked the fever. Luke 4.
6. To restrain; to calm.
He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea. Matt. 8.
REBU’KE, n. 1. A chiding; reproof for faults; reprehension.Why bear you these rebukes and answer not?
To suffer rebuke, to endure the reproach and persecution of men. Jer. 15.”

1 Corinthians 6:9-11

Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

What this is saying is you continuing in sin will not get you into heaven unless if you have true repentance.

What is repentance?

“1. To feel pain, sorrow or regret for something done or spoken; as, to repent that we have lost much time in idleness or sensual pleasure; to repent that we have injured or wounded the feelings of a friend. A person repents only of what he himself has done or said.

2. To express sorrow for something past.”

True repentance is being sorry for what you have done regardless of what it is and stopping what you are doing and most importantly asking God for forgiveness. Always remember no one is Good but God the father even Jesus said it himself we all make mistakes. So, if you sin, we are only human just ask God for forgiveness and stop sinning and he will forgive you and heal you in ways you never thought possible.

Mark 10:18 18And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.

“Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.”
James 4:8 

          What this is saying is pray to god, look for him, ask for forgiveness, and he will come closer to you in your daily life and will help purify your heart and make you more open hearted.

Nigh Definition
NIGH, a. G. A preposition signifying to, on or after, that is, approaching, pressing on, making towards; strait, narrow.

“1. Near; not distant or remote in place or time. The loud tumult shows the battle nigh. When the fig-tree putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh. 2. Closely allied by blood; as a nigh kinsman. 3. Easy to be obtained or learnt; of easy access. The word is very nigh unto thee. Deuteronomy 30. 4. Ready to support, to forgive, or to aid and defend. The Lord is nigh unto them who are of a broken heart. Psalm 34. 5. Close in fellowship; intimate in relation.”

Everyday you should live by this

Proverbs 3:5-7 King James Version (KJV)

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.
