The importance of sharing the Gospel and the reason people share it!
I had an old friend who is really nice post a status saying “I am not someone to talk about religion please keep that away from me. #annoyed” So, today I wanted to talk about why as Christians we share the Bible, and invite people to church.
The bible teaches time and time again that we should share the Good News, the Gospel, and share the Love of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.
Romans 5:10 says
“And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!”
What this saying is As Christians and Christ followers we should share the Bible no matter what our Job title is. We should invite people to church and be glad that by Gods grace you are able to gather and worship him in Spirit and in Truth.
Someone who isn’t religious but had an interesting take on this. This name is Pen Jillette and the Title of the video is called “A gift of a bible” He said a man came up to him proselytizing which means “to convert or attempt to convert (someone) from one religion, belief, or opinion to another.” He says in the video “I don’t respect people who don’t proselytize” He then goes on to say “If you believe there is a heaven and a hell and people could be going to hell and are not getting eternal life and you think well it’s not really worth telling them this because it would make it socially awkward. How much do you have to hate someone to not proselytize? How much do you have to hate someone to believe that everlasting life is possible and not tell them? I mean if I believed without a shadow of a doubt that a truck was coming at you and you didn’t believe it but that truck was baring down on you. There is a certain point where I tackle you and THIS IS MORE IMPORTANT then that.”
So true. Therefore, time and time again people continue to share the Gospel. In Matthew 28:19 it teaches “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:”
Life is a true blesses and so many amazing things happen once you start living for Jesus. Jesus is the only way to heaven so, for me not to share it would be wrong of me.
Here are some reasons to share the Gospel!
- God’s Complete love:
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. … For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. John 3:!6
- JESUS AS GOD, ETERNAL
1. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1
I and my Father are one. John 10:30
- CERTAINTY OF OUR
John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
John 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.
- NO OTHER WAY TO GOD
EXCEPT THROUGH JESUS
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
EVIDENCE OF THE RESURRECTION
Juke 24:22-23 “Yea, and certain women also of our company made
us astonished, which were early at the sepulchre; And when they found not his
body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said
that he was alive.” KJV
Luke 24:36-43 King James
36 And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
37 But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.
38 And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?
39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
40 And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet.
41 And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat?
42 And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.
43 And he took it, and did eat before them.
