Interesting Facts – all the knowledge about TRUST HOPE AND FAITH you could possibly need.

Today I want to talk about Faith, Trust, and Hope in God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. When many people become a Christ follower, they become in the words of Major League baseball player Ben Zobrist (who is on the Chicago Cubs) “gung ho” (unthinkingly enthusiastic and eager, especially about taking part in fighting or warfare.) with their beliefs, but over time it slowly starts to fade. That hope and enthusiasm you once had needs to stay strong now and until the day you pass on.

  1. Let’s first start by talking about Faith:
“In theology, the assent of the mind or understanding to the truth of what God has revealed. Simple belief of the scriptures, of the being and perfections of God, and of the existence, character and doctrines of Christ, founded on the testimony of the sacred writers, is called historical or speculative faith; a faith little distinguished from the belief of the existence and achievements of Alexander or of Cesar.” Faith is something you have based off your experiences, hard work, and devotion to God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. In 2 Corinthians chapter 5 verse 7 It says “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” and this is so true. I remember when I first moved to Texas I was blown away with how many signs in my life God was giving me and if I hadn’t known God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit was 100% true I would have just said “that is just a coincidence” but I am here to tell you that God wanted these things to happen to me. Like going to a coffee shop when I first moved here in Texas and the owner’s names were Tiffany and Mimi (I had a dog named Mimi and my sisters name is Tiffany.) So Having Faith and taking action is very important with growing your Spiritual endeavors. Just like it says in Hebrew Chapter 11 verse 6 “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him” What this is saying is that anyone who comes to God, prays to him, asks him for forgiveness, and to guide and direct but, most importantly pray, believe, and diligently seek God amazing things will God will start to show you signs throughout your lifetime here on earth.
  2. Next I want to talk to you about Hope: Hebrews Chapter 11 verse 1 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Right away this goes back to Faith so hope and faith throughout the Bible are very much tied together. Also, Faith and hope tied with Jesus Christ too. Without his death and resurrection, we would have no hope. He died for our sins, so we could be forgiven, and have salvation.
Romans Chapter 15 verse 13 “Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.” Now what this is saying is by having hope in God and letting him into your life, and letting his wonders fill your heart anything is possible with the guidance of the Holy Ghost.
Peter 1:3 “Blessed be the God and Father of our LORD Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,” Begotten is a VERY important word that is used thoughout the bible ( Genesis 5:4,Leviticus 18:11,Numbers 11:12, Deuteronomy 23:8,
John 3:16 and Many others) It means fathered
  3. Finally, let’s talk about Trust: Trust is something we all work really hard to gain. Proverbs 3:5 2For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee. 3Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: 4So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man. 5Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. 7Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. 8It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones. What this is saying is just that you should have trust in God no matter what happens in your life. Stop trying to justfy things and just surrender it to go. Those who life for God will have a long and happy life here on earth and in heaven. Put God first not man. Trust in the LORD WITH ALL YOUR HEART. It doesn’t say with some or when you feel like it. It clearly says with ALL YOUR HEART. Pray to him, acknowlege him and he will guide and direct your path if you choose to listen. Stay away from evil and the bad things of this earth. Also, you might be thinking to your self what does verse 8 mean? first the word navel mean “The center of the lower part of the abdomen, or the point where the umbilical cord passes out of the fetus. The umbilical cord is a collection of vessels by which the fetus of an animal communicates with the parent by means of the placenta, to which it is attached.” It means you will have a heathy body.
“HEALTH. “It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.” Sickness of body may be the portion of the best of men or women. Some are born to suffer until they die and pass to the blessed country where the inhabitant will never say, “I am sick.” But the constant tendency of piety and its invariable accompaniment morality is to give.”

health—(Compare Margin). to thy navel—for all the organs of nourishment. marrow—(Compare Margin). bones—frame of body. True piety promotes bodily health.
