Perseverance and sticking it out even when times are hard.

“It’s time for Animaniacs! And we’re zany to the max! So just sit back and relax. You’ll laugh ’til you collapse. We’re Animaniacs!” is something kids sung throughout my childhood. Many of us have all heard of the Warner Brothers and the Warner Brothers and the Warner sister Dot, but many of us don’t know who made the show and how much Perseverance was involved. Steven Spielberg was the man behind this cartoon he also created
E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Freakazoid, Pinky and the Brain and many others.

Steven Spielberg was born on December 18, 1946 in Cincinnati, Ohio. His mom Leah “was a restaurateur and concert pianist, and his father, Arnold Spielberg (born 1917), was an electrical engineer involved in the development of computers.” Spielberg was raised as an orthodox Jew. In his neighborhood, he was one of the only families that were Jewish because of this he was bullied a lot. He said “In high school, I got smacked and kicked around. Two bloody noses. It was horrible.” He made his first home movie when he was ONLY 12 yers old. “after attending Arcadia High School in Phoenix for three years, his family next moved to Saratoga, California, where he later graduated from Saratoga High School in 1965.” He was a Boy Cout where “He attained the rank of Eagle Scout. His parents divorced while he was still in school” After High School, he moved to Los Angeles CA Where he wanted to go to film school. He applied to the University of Southern CA but due to his C average in school, he was rejected. Not ONCE, not TWICE, BUT THREE TIMES. “Steven Spielberg was rejected from the University of Southern California School of Theater, Film, and Television three times.” Yes, he really did get rejected three times when he tried to go to school in CA. He could have easily given up, but he kept at it. “He eventually attended another school, only to drop out and become a director before finishing.” He later was offered a job with Universal Studios thanks to preservice, hard work, and never giving up he made it thanks to Gods plan. He said “It isn’t something I enjoy admitting, but when I was seven, eight, nine years old, God forgive me, I was embarrassed because we were Orthodox Jews. I was embarrassed by the outward perception of my parents’ Jewish practices. I was never really ashamed to be Jewish, but I was uneasy at times.” Spielberg also said he suffered from acts of anti-Semitic prejudice and bullying: “In high school, I got smacked and kicked around. Two bloody noses. It was horrible.” THANKS to preservice, God, Jesus, and the holy Spirit he made it.

People, we need to join a church lift people up and show up to church inviting everyone and being welcoming regardless of their past life God forgives them. I know we all can’t be Steven Spielberg, but we need to show examples in our every day lives that we are christains and don’t give up just because times seem hard. It only takes an hour or two max out of your week to go to church and if you start living right with the Lord what do you gain out of it? Free salvation and everlasting life in heaven!

What does Perseverance mean? It means doing something even though it is difficult and hard. DOING IT with faith even though the results are delayed

James 1:9-15
9Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted: 10But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away. 11For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways. 12Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. 13Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: 14But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. 15Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

I want you to pay close attention to James 1:12

James 1:12
12Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
I don’t know why but these last few days I have been really tired! I could have easily said to myself I’m tired and don’t feel doing anything today! PEOPLE, we need to do what God called us to do no matter what! If we are tired, having
People if you fight temptation even when you are tired and keep working hard to achieve your goals the Lord OUR God will bless us in ways you never thought possible, but you have to remember on his time and when he knows you are ready!!

2. Mel Blanc
There is a very famous Voice actor named Mel Blanc he voiced all of the male Looney Toons Characters plus many other shows. He went to the studio every week with the guy telling Mel “I TOLD YOU 100 TIMES WE HAVE ALL THE VOICES WE NEED.” so he kept knocking on the door FOR TWO YEARS!! “Finally in March of 1937 Mels perseverance and a little twist of FAITH allowed him the break he desperately needed.” “It was the week before Christmas he came looking for a job that day Tray Brown was sitting there” He took over when the other guy passed away. and Mel said “Mr. Brown I’ve been trying to get in here to audition… Just to have him hear me but the guy kept saying no I’ve got all the voices we need.” Mel never gave up but most importantly it was in God Plan and he had faith and kept at it even through the hardest times. Thanks to perseverance, God, Jesus, and The Holy Spirit, GOD’S Plan and never giving him he did what God had called him to do.

Ephesians 6:15-20
15And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; 19And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, 20For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. 21But that ye also may know my affairs, and how I do, Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, shall make known to you all things:
