Being a Christian

Daily Preaching 12/22/2018

People we need to stand up as Christians and start to glorify God and Jesus in our everyday lives. We need to show that living with God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit and as a Christian is much better. The way God glorifies us and blesses are everyday lives is unbelievable, but we must pray daily and most importantly we not only have to pray, read the Bible, and live by Gods words, but we must show and glorify God’s works in our everyday lives.  Always remember that God Answers prayers on his time and based on our needs and his plan.

Things we can start to do to live as a Christian:

  1. Truly REPENT from your sins and start living with our Lord and Savior Jesus. Let God guide and direct you throughout your Christian life. If we talk like were a Christian we must walk like a Christian too.
  2. Follow Jesus and his teachings throughout the Bible. If you don’t know Jesus’s teachings just buy a Bible with red leaders and read all the Read letters those are Jesus’s words. He will save you and you will be transformed.
  3. If we see someone who needs help, help them. Whether it’s giving them Money because you have a few extra bucks, buying them food, or just being there to pray for them and talk to them when they need a friend, it’s most important to do it to glorify God the Father, The son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.

Below are the three times the word Christian is used in the Bible.

Acts 11:23-29

23Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord. 24For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord. 25Then departed Barnabas to Tarsus, for to seek Saul: 26And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch. 27And in these days came prophets from Jerusalem unto Antioch. 28And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar. 29Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judaea:

Exhorted – “strongly encourage or urge (someone) to do something.”

“Antioch In Syria, on the river Orontes, about 16 miles from the Mediterranean, and some 300 miles north of Jerusalem. It was the metropolis of Syria, and afterwards became the capital of the Roman province in Asia.”

Acts 26:25-30

25But he said, I am not mad, most noble Festus; but speak forth the words of truth and soberness. 26For the king knoweth of these things, before whom also I speak freely: for I am persuaded that none of these things are hidden from him; for this thing was not done in a corner. 27King Agrippa, believest thou the prophets? I know that thou believest. 28Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian. 29And Paul said, I would to God, that not only thou, but also all that hear me this day, were both almost, and altogether such as I am, except these bonds. 30And when he had thus spoken, the king rose up, and the governor, and Bernice, and they that sat with them: 31And when they were gone aside, they talked between themselves, saying, This man doeth nothing worthy of death or of bonds.

1 Peter 4:13-19

13But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. 14If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. 15But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men’s matters. 16Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. 17For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? 18And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? 19Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.
